Our schedule for group walks in the region:
Most weekends, we walk together as a group, and you are welcome to join us! Please RSVP to the host, or to Mike, if you are planning to attend, so that we can watch for you at the walk start location, and also so we can notify you if there are any changes. All participants shall register for the event by signing the athletic waiver, and pay $4 registration fee per walker. Please note – the walk date, location, and time are subject to change, and we will do our level-best to keep this webpage updated with current details. But if you RSVP, your host will contact you with changes.
Sun., Dec. 21. New Year’s Worker Walk. Meet at 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot for the St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church (behind the High School) at 3050 California Ave. SW. Mike Nagan is host. For this walk, we will be testing the walk directions for the New Year’s Day routes, for the upcoming Traditional Event which our Club is hosting.

Sat., Jan 10. Georgetown & Steam Plant Open House. Meet at 10:30 a.m. Start Location t.b.d. Diane Troyer is host. 5K and 10K routes, both rated 1A. The route passes by the historic landmark, Georgetown Steam Plant, which is hosting an open house that day. The Steam Plant has been revitalized as a Community Cultural Center, hosting many live events throughout the year. See Georgetown Steam Plant for details. We have timed the walk so that interested walkers can stop in for the Steam Plant Open House, while along the walk route. For full details about the walk, click on Georgetown. Sun., Jan 18. Columbia City. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at “All the Best Pet Care” at 4805 Rainier Ave. S., Seattle. Jane Clark is host. 6K and 10K routes, both rated 2A. For this walk, you can register either through the online start box, or at the physical start box at the start location. Please RSVP, and Jane will send you information about parking, prior to the event (parking in the store lot is not permitted during the walk). Sun., Jan. 25. Historic Capitol Hill. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the parking area near the Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park, at 1400 E. Prospect. St., Seattle. Sat., Jan. 31. Bothell. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at QFC grocery store at 18921 Bothell Way, Bothell (see below for driving directions). Jill Wakefield is host. 5K and 10K routes, both rated 1B. For this walk, you can register through the online start box, or at the physical start box at the start location. Walk description: Pleasant and relatively easy walk on the paved Sammamish River Trail in King County, the wetlands, through parks, downtown, and around the University of Washington Bothell, Cascadia College. Stores, restaurants and restrooms are along the route. Driving directions: I-405 Northbound: exit #23 SR 522 west to Bothell. Drive to SR527 (Bothell Way). Turn right to NE 188th St. Turn left on NE 188th St. Turn right into QFC Parking Lot. For I-405 Southbound: exit #23B, then continue as above.
Sun., Feb. 8. Fremont. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Fisheries Supply at 1900 N. Northlake Way, Seattle (note: store actually fronts on N. 34th St). Dave Madsen is host. 6K, 10K and 13K routes, all rated 1A. Sun., Feb. 18. Burien. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Safeway grocery store, 138 SW 148th St., Burien. Host Fran Carson. 5K and 10K routes, both rated 2B. Walk description: Come see the new and old Burien. Lots of new restaurants and stores to explore. Views of Lake Burien and Puget Sound. Route is on sidewalks, park paths, and road shoulders. Registration for this walk is through the online start box, but Fran will have the stamp and registration sheet available at the start, if you wish to receive a physical stamp (instead of registering through the online start box).
Sat. Feb. 21. Lake Union. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Fisheries Supply at 1900 N. Northlake Way, Seattle (note: store actually fronts on N. 34th St). Host t.b.d. 11K route, rated 1A. Sat., March 7. Des Moines Creek Trail. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Auntie Irene’s Coffee Shop at 22504 Marine View Drive S., Des Moines. Fran Carson is host. 5K and 10K routes, both rated 2B. Walk description: Beautiful wooded areas along the Barnes Creek and Des Moines Creek trails. Views of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains from Marina. Registration for this walk is through the online start box, but Fran will have the stamp and registration sheet available at the start, if you wish to receive a physical stamp (instead of registering through the online start box). Driving directions: From I-5: Take Kent/Des Moines Road Exit. Southbound drivers turn right, crossing Highway 99. Turn right onto Marine View Drive. Northbound drivers turn left at end of exit, to Kent Des Moines Road. Turn right on Marine View Drive. Auntie Irene’s is on right side of road.
Sun., March 15. Woodinville. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Haggen grocery store at 17641 Garden Way NE Woodinville. Host t.b.d. 5K and 10K routes, both rated 1A. For this walk, you can register through the online start box, or at the physical start box at the start location. Walk description: Explore Woodinville and Sammamish River Trail. This is a flat easy walk on sidewalks and paved trails. Enjoy seeing the changes to the community. Driving directions: From I-405, exit to WA-522 E toward Woodinville. Exit onto WA-202 E/131st Ave NE toward Woodinville. Pass by Dairy Queen Grill & Chill (on the right). Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto NE 175th St. Turn left on 138th Pl NE. Haggen grocery store will be on the left.
