University of Washington

This walk begins and finishes on the Burke-Gilman Trail, a former railroad right-of-way, but the beautiful campus of the University of Washington is the main attraction.  Enjoy the diversity of architecture styles, the grounds and gardens, and the spectacular view of Mt. Rainier from Drumheller Fountain and Frosh Pond.  Stop for coffee or tea on “The Ave.”

An alternate start location is temporarily available for Light Rail riders, beginning near the UW Light Rail station, and enjoying the same beautiful sights along the route.  A 6K route option is available from the alternate start location as well.  See Comments section below.
