This walk visits Gasworks Park and then on to the Fremont neighborhood – “The Center of the Universe” – with its world famous sculptures of the Troll, “Waiting for the Interurban,” and Vladimir Lenin. Walk on both sides of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, returning along the Burke Gilman Trail. The 13K option continues to the Hiram Chittenden Locks and historic Ballard.

Start Location: Fisheries Supply. 1900 N. Northlake Way, Seattle, WA, 98103 (note: store actually fronts on N. 34th St.). Start box is a wood file cabinet just inside the door on your left as you enter.

Driving Directions: From I-5 NB or SB, take exit 169 “NE 45th St.” Turn west onto NE 45th St. and then continue to Meridian Ave. N. Turn left onto Meridian and proceed downhill to N. 34th St. Fisheries Supply faces 34th. Turn onto 34th for the best on-street parking. Please do not park in store lot.
