On this long-time favorite walk you’ll visit many must-see sights, including the area around Seattle Center, the Amazon spheres, the Olympic Sculpture Garden, Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, historic King Street Station, the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, and the International District.

Start Location: Bartell Drugs. 400 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA 98104. Ask for Start Box at cashiers counter.
Start Location Hours: M-F: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sat/Sun: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Comments: No restrooms at Start Location – first available restroom is approximately 1/2 mile after start, at Seattle Public Library. Pets are not allowed on Light Rail.

Walk to Start from International District Station: Disembark the train and exit at the north end (southbound riders turn right, northbound riders turn left). Take the escalator up and walk straight to S. Jackson St. Cross Jackson, then left to walk one block. Bartells is on the corner at 4th Ave. S. See map below.
Driving Directions: It is not feasible to drive and park at this Start Location. For driving directions to another Start Location which has parking, go to AVA.org and search “Events” for the walk called “Seattle – Downtown/Waterfront.” The walk still qualifies for the Light Rail Challenge if initiated from the other Start Location because it passes by several Light Rail Stations along the route.
