Passes through parks, several residential neighborhoods, commercial & historic Ballard, the Chittenden Locks & fish ladder. Optional 6/7K route takes you directly to and from the Locks. You’ll walk across the Chittenden Locks, observing the lock attendants managing the locking of boats large and small between the Ship Canal and Puget Sound, and visit the fish ladder. Chittenden also features a good visitor center and beautiful gardens and grounds. You’ll enjoy views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Both walks are suitable for strollers. Wheelchairs will have difficulty.

From I-5 Northbound or Southbound: take exit 172 and drive west on N. 85th (becomes NW 85th) for approx. 2.5 miles to 24th Ave. NW. Turn left on 24th Ave NW and proceed about 1/3 mile to the neighborhood shopping area at NW 80th and 24th NW. Saleh’s will be on your right at the SW corner of the intersection. Please use on-street parking.
From downtown take #18 “Ballard North Beach” to 24th NW and NW 80th.
