Walk through the Madison Park community and enjoy a stroll through the Washington Park Arboretum. The 10K route travels along Lake Washington with some great viewpoints of the Cascades, Mt. Rainier, Lake Washington, and the east side, and passes by many buildings of interest, including Pioneer Hall on the lake, the Seattle Tennis Club, the former Russian Consulate, and others. The 6K route goes directly to the Arboretum and back.

Online Start Box: Registration is available on the Online Start Box. For registration information, go to ava.org, or try this link. Once you’ve registered online, the walk directions and map will be available for you to download. Or you may register at the Physical Start Box, as described below:
Start Location: Bert’s Red Apple Market. 1801 41st Ave. E., Seattle, WA 98112. Start box is behind the counter in small cabinet to immediate right of door – kindly ask for it.
Start Location Hours: Store is open daily, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Walk hours dawn to dusk. Store may be closed on major holidays – call store at (206) 322-1330 to confirm. Arboretum is free of charge, and open daily dawn to dusk. Graham Visitors Center at the Arboretum has limited hours during Covid, but the restrooms are available daily, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed on major holidays.

Comments: Restrooms along the route but not at the Start Location. Wheelchairs and strollers will have difficulty and will need to find some alternate routes.

Driving Directions: From I-5 northbound, take exit 164A (Madison St) and then follow the signs for the Madison St. exit. At the offramp for Madison St., move to the right lane and turn right onto Madison. Go 2.8 miles to 41st Ave. E. The store is on the left.
From I-5 southbound, take left-hand exit 168B (SR-520 – Bellevue / Kirkland – note, you will exit before the toll). Go through the tunnel and merge onto SR-520. Move quickly to the right lane and take the first right-hand exit (Montlake Blvd / Univ of Wash). At the end of the offramp, turn right onto Montlake, and continue as it becomes 24th Ave. E. Then left onto E. Interlaken Blvd. Turn right onto Lake Washington Blvd. E. and continue 0.7 miles to Madison St. Turn left onto Madison St. and continue to 41st Ave. E. Store is on left.
Do not park in the store lot. There is plenty of parking on neighborhood streets.
