Club Cruise

Join us as we take a cruise to Alaska!  In 2026, we’ll embark on our third annual Alaska cruise, to enjoy sanctioned walks in Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, and in Victoria, B.C.  It is a wonderful way to see the beautiful scenery of Alaska, whales and wildlife.

May 16-23, 2026
Holland America – Eurodam
Departs Seattle on Saturday May 16, returns to Seattle on Saturday May 23

This cruise has a wonderful itinerary with 4 great stops, and amazing glacier viewing days.  Holland America has put together the Emerald City Wanderers Alaska Walking Group, offering good rates and availability.  For more information, contact Diane.  Or, to go ahead and book, call our representative at Holland America, Samantha Carranza, at 800-355-3017, ext. 29402.  The Group is open to those associated with the Emerald City Wanderers, and your friends or relatives as well.  The more the merrier!  To get the details worked out for your particular trip and the exact cost for you, please call or email Samantha, and she can get you signed up.

For the walks, this is not an escorted group, but the Emerald City Wanderers Club will organize the registration and stamps, distribute walk directions to registered walkers, and will assist in coordination for those who wish to walk with a group.  Or, once you’ve registered and paid, you may walk on your own, at your own pace.  All the walks start from the ship, except Sitka which is accessed by a shuttle to the Visitors Center.  For the rest of the time on the cruise, Emerald City Wanderers Club doesn’t sponsor on-board group activities, so you are free to enjoy the company of your friends, family and walking-pals, and make whatever plans you wish, taking advantage of all the fun and food on the Eurodam!

The sanctioned walks include:

Juneau:  5 or 10K route options.  Both walks go past the State capitol, Governor’s Mansion, Juneau Cemetery, and Whale Park.

Sitka:  Choice of two 5K routes – walk one or both.  Loop #1 includes the National Historic Totem Park, beautiful marina and ocean views, and many historic sites, including the Russian Governor’s House.  Loop #2 includes the town and more of Sitka’s history, including a Russian Orthodox Church.

Ketchikan:  Choice of two 5K routes – walk one or both.  Loop #1 includes the town, the shops and galleries of Creek Street, Married Man’s Trail and Fish Ladder, and Totem Park.  Loop #2 includes neighborhoods in the north side of town, and the shops and businesses along the waterfront.

Victoria, B.C:  7K (night walk).  Roam through charming neighborhoods to the heart of the inner bay with the Government building lights and famous Empress Hotel.  (This route is tentative – we are working in partnership with the Victoria Pathfinders Club in B.C. – further confirmation and details to follow.)

All the walks provide incredible history and views, and the Juneau Walk meets the 50 State Capitol Challenge.  Of course, if you would rather explore on your own or take an excursion at these ports, those are also great options.  The views are amazing, and last year we had several whale sightings!  Even without the walks, the cruise offers a chance to see amazing beauty!
