We have added the Light Rail Challenge to the list of challenges on the online start box.  (Many thanks to Sandi Severtsen of Sound Steppers for getting this set up!)
This means when you register for (and complete) a Light Rail walk on the OSB, you can then download an insert card for the Light Rail Challenge.  Here’s how to get that set up:

After you log in to your OSB account, click on the “My Start Box” tab, then click on “My Books.”  Then you’ll see an option to click on “My Challenges and Other Programs”.  Click on that, and it will have a long list of other Challenges, including the Light Rail Challenge.  Check that box to add it to your list of Challenges.

And, if you’re still working on the first Light Rail Challenge (yay!  keep going!), go ahead and click this box.  We’ll of course accept this insert card for the original Challenge too.  (We couldn’t add the original Challenge to this list because it has technically expired – but if you’re working on completing your book, by all means use this for your insert card!  Walk on, happy campers!).

Starting January, 2025, we’ll have a brand new Light Rail Challenge for you to check out.  Take a look at the details of the Challenge here.

For 2025, so far, we have two Traditional Events lined up, which will include the Easter walk in April, which will pass by UW Station, and a Guided Walk in June, which will start at the Mountlake Terrace Station.

Sound Transit reports that the connection over I-90 will be complete sometime in 2025, which will allow us to take Light Rail across the Lake, and access more walks directly from Light Rail!  We’ll keep you updated here.

Coming in 2026:  A new walk qualifying for the Lynnwood Station, from our friends at Sound Steppers!  Although the Station is open for ridership, we’re awaiting completion of the Scriber Lake Park Trail renovation.  Looking forward to having another great walk to choose from in the “North” region!
